During Term 1 on Monday afternoons the Tasman Rugby Union decided to bring Rippa Rugby to Motueka.  Some kids from Motueka South School registered to have a go!  The rippa rugby competition was held at Sports Park and schools from around the district came to compete.  There were players from Brooklyn, Riwaka, Tasman, Parklands, Lower Moutere and St Peter Chanel. The year 7’s and year 8’s got to ref rippa rugby, they had to get there early to make sure they got a game.
We learned different skills like passing, sharing the ball, ripping, and working on our speed.  It was really fun and it was a good way to fill in a Monday afternoon!
We hope the Tasman Rugby Union runs the competition next year.
